INTRODUCTION:
I am an artist/ designer based in Cape Town, South Africa. known as DR.Z. I am also a former student of the late visionary artist RAMMELLZEE. Following my apprenticeship with him, I was honored with the title “D-ONE” as an official member of the TMK (Tag Master Killers) Crew, alongside notable artists Anthony Clarck (A-ONE), Charles Hargrove “Kool Koor” (B-ONE), and Torrick Ablack “Toxic” (C-ONE).
I trained under Rammellzee’s mentorship intensively for approximately six months in 2010, during which time he imparted pioneering methodologies and techniques associated with Ikonoklast Panzerism, or “flying tank style” letter design and sculpture. In addition, I was educated on his GOTHIC FUTURISM manifesto, an elaborate theory which explores the evolution of the alphabet and various aspects of language systems and symbology, and how it relates to the graffiti-art movement.
IKONOKLAST PANZERISM represents the culmination of Rammellzee’s theoretical framework, which asserts that the structure and function of alphabetical symbols have undergone a historical progression out of systematic subjugation. This evolution spans from rudimentary carvings to medieval illuminated manuscripts, subsequently advancing through wildstyle graffiti, and ultimately concluding in three-dimensional, weaponized flying tank sculptures, termed “Ikonoklast Panzerism.” With Rammellzee’s explicit instruction, I am extending this evolutionary trajectory of the alphabet by employing contemporary media and advanced mechanisms. Specifically, I utilize technical LEGO®, wherein the LEGO® medium symbolically reinforces the conceptual metaphor of “building blocks,” analogous to how individual letters construct words and, by extension, language itself.
I am currently in the process of sculpting the entire alphabet, having completed the letters D, E (SIGMA/ Σ), G, R, M, S, T and Z with the remaining letters available for acquisition through private commission and reputable art galleries. My works have been exhibited internationally alongside artists such as Futura, Doze Green, Ian Kuali'i. Delta, sheOne, Augustine Kofie, Poesia, Toxic. I was included in the “Cosmic Flush” Ramellzee tribute show at the Magda Danysz gallery in London in 2015. My works have also been published by Gamma Proforma (UK), Art Africa Magazine (ZA), Love Magazine (UK), Colette (FR).
Below are original documents & collaboration artwork from Rammellzee and the “Timestopper” wrist piece, which authenticate my official membership in TMK and my authority to continue his artistic legacy, in the capacity assigned to me.
Each sculpture measures approximately 300 x 200 mm. The price varies depending on the chosen mechanics—options include a fully motorized version with drive motion/ remote control or a static model featuring basic steering/ push motion.
I am able to ship worldwide, ensuring that all parts are securely glued and meticulously packaged for safe transit. Each package will include geometric blueprints, additional original artworks, and official authenticity documents and instructions to any mechanical functions .
Aside from the sculptures, a variety of other artworks are also available by special commission.
